Connections with AFAS, ERP, IoT and external systems. I built an AFAS–Ultimo interface for a hospital, among others.

Deep experience with fleet and asset management. I advise on processes, data model and reporting.

Ultimo support on demand or on a fixed number of hours a month. Small fixes often same day. No expensive contracts — just send an email and I'll pick it up.

From Ultimo employee to independent consultant.
Short version: I started at Ultimo in 2015. I've been freelance since 2020.

Five years inside Ultimo, across three teams: updates, integrations and international implementations. From the international team I worked in the UK, US, Nigeria and Curaçao — including Gatwick Airport. Over those five years I delivered more than a hundred projects.

Freelance Ultimo consultant
Independent since 2020. Currently working with Dutch Air Traffic Control (LVNL), Bluestream Offshore and Vibber, among others. I'm inside Ultimo every working day — it isn't a sideline, it's my craft.

Freelancer vs agency
The math is often simpler than you'd think.
For an Ultimo engagement you don't always need a full firm. Sometimes one experienced person is better, faster and noticeably cheaper.
With an agency
- You talk to a salesperson and an account manager. The consultants who'll actually do the work — you meet them after signing.
- Proposals of dozens of pages, with phases, work packages and governance structures.
- Senior in the pitch, junior on your project.
- Notice periods, minimum commitments and change requests for every tweak.
- Overhead baked into the hourly rate — office, sales, marketing, targets.
- Knowledge stays partly inside the firm.
