Approach

What working together usually looks like.

A typical engagement moves through five stages. None of this is sacred — the shape adapts to the job. But broadly, this is how it goes.

  1. 01 30 minutes · no strings

    Intro call

We hop on a call, or meet briefly. You tell me what's going on; I ask a few sharp questions. By the end you know whether I'm the right fit. If I'm not, I'll say so.

  2. 02 1 — 2 weeks

    Analysis

I dive into your current Ultimo setup, your processes and your goals. I talk to the admin, the shop floor and sometimes IT. Out of it comes a clear picture of where you are and where you want to be.

  3. 03 About a week

    Plan & proposal

A concrete proposal: scope, timeline, risks and price. No fluff, no endless documentation — just what you need to make a confident decision.

  4. 04 Project-dependent

    Execution

I work side by side with your team. Short feedback loops, fixed check-in moments, visible progress along the way. You always know where we stand.

  5. 05 As long as you need

    Aftercare

Go-live isn't the end. I help with adoption, small improvements, and — if you want — ongoing functional management on retainer.

How I work

Honest about what's possible

If an approach won't work, I'll say so. If another party fits you better, I'll say that too.

Low overhead

I work directly with the people who make the difference. No layers of consultants, no expensive status reports.

Knowledge stays with you

Everything I build is documented. Your team can take it over, now or later.

Flexible on pace

A short week-long fix? A longer program? Both work. Even in parallel, spread across the week.

FAQ

What clients usually ask first.

  • 01 You're one person. What if you're sick or on holiday?

Fair question. For retainer clients I flag holidays well in advance. For urgent situations I have a small network of experienced Ultimo freelancers who can step in. You always talk to me first — but you're never stuck waiting only on me.

  • 02 Do you work alongside our IT team or existing Ultimo partner?

Yes, almost always. In most engagements I work alongside an internal admin or an existing vendor. I don't replace anyone — I add the specialist Ultimo knowledge where it's missing.

  • 03 What does it cost?

Depends on the work. I share my hourly rate after our intro call — and then I can also tell you whether fixed-price or time-and-materials makes more sense. No setup fees, no hidden items.

  • 04 What if I want to stop mid-way?

That's always fine. Hourly work stops immediately — I invoice up to that point. A monthly retainer can be cancelled each month. No minimum term, no penalty clause.

  • 05 Fixed price or time-and-materials?

Either, depending on the job. I prefer fixed price for implementations and interfaces with clear scope — then you know where you stand. Management, discovery and small work go hourly.

  • 06 Do you work with older Ultimo versions, or only the latest?

Both. I've worked with versions ranging from classic on-premise to the latest cloud releases. Older environments often deliver the most value from focused help.

  • 07 Should I call you or email?

For an intro or strategic conversation: call me. For application management and day-to-day questions, email works better — I pick it up in order and the context stays on paper.

  • 08 Will you sign an NDA?

Absolutely. I'll sign your NDA without fuss. For healthcare and aviation engagements it's standard anyway.
